Diane says: “This ’02 docu on Baba Ram Dass has no reviews on the Chlo website, so I throw one in belatedly, because I found it worthwhile viewing. Three of us watched it, none of us knowing much about this ’60s hero (thrown out of Harvard with fellow prof Timothy Leary after getting his first taste of the Divine thru LSD, became a spiritual leader).
“The NYT criticized the film for being too much like a ‘Biography’ installment (starts with Ram Dass afflicted by a stroke when he is around 60, then uses older footage to show his early life and influence), but this treatment was perfect for us needing background.
“Of the three of us watching, one took Ram Dass’ words to heart, one appreciated him at a distance, and one enjoyed making
fun of all the people radiating peace and love. The docu works for all of those audiences.” 3 cats
