Ivy says: “I saw this film at TIFF because I have always been curious about this story. The biggest weakness for the film is just a part of reality, since there is no known reason for why these women are being killed the film can only pose theories. As unsatisfying as that is, the filmmaker uses this to point out some important political issues that are present about the treatment of women in society, not only Mexican or American society but all over the world. “The film is well acted and has a strong script. I like a police procedural so I enjoyed the mystery/crime elements and they kept me fully engaged in the story. “I highly recommend this film. As straightforward as the film felt while I was watching it, it has stuck with me for over two years. 4 cats“ |
