Chlotrudis Awards has compiled a list of 200 movies from the twentieth century that have had the most influence on its Nominating Committee members. As we enter the twenty-first century, Chlotrudis Awards wants to recognize these films as inspiring and notable. Chlotrudis Awards recommends that you enjoy these films and carry their spirit with you into the new millennium.

Not all of the movies appearing on this list fall under the Chlotrudis Awards mission statement. This is a listing of the movies that have had the most impact on Nominating Committee members throughout their lives. Essentially, these are the films that have shaped Nominating Committee members into the discriminating movie viewers they are today.

To create the 200 for 2000, Nominating Committee members were asked to come up with their Top 50 films of all time. There were no criteria other than to keep the Chlotrudis Awards mission statement in mind while creating their lists. Some members chose to favor important films, or films that were considered by them to be technically superior. Others chose sentimental favorites. This explains the variance in the titles listed here. Actually, it makes for a more interesting list! After receiving all of the lists, numerical values were assigned to each of the rankings, and each movie was given a point total. Ties were resolved by consideration of the number of lists a movie appeared on, followed by the highest ranking that movie reached.
