The character-building is quite impressive, and it’s one of the best films of its subgenre in the last couple of years. While the subject matter might be considered niche for some and definitely is an acquired taste, the execution here reveals a familiar premise that is anything but tired. The genre also takes a leap forward with one its socially progressive subplots, and it was refreshing to see that as well. Actress Morfydd Clark is great in carrying out the lead role, but the extra pat on the back goes to director Rose Glass and production team for the wonderful pacing of this plot progression. Been sitting on this one for a while, and now it’s finally available for a wider audience’s enjoyment.”
