Michael says: “Aaron Eagle is a dom camboy who poses for his fans in his tight-whities, then humiliates them online. For a fee, he’ll even get naked for them — or, as we find out soon enough, for $50K he’ll even meet them in person for a session. He’s all bravado and toxic masculinity, but as we learn fairly soon, there’s more to Aaron than what we see on cam. When he visits a masked fan, who doesn’t want have sex with him, but rather film h I’m in his underwear while he answers personal questions, dynamics start to get uncomfortable. Soon enough, the fan is unmasked and the dynamic changes once again. What follows is a night of revelations and explorations of childhood trauma, adult perversion, and deep emotions being brought to the surface. Yeah, there’s some sex too.
“Tuttle’s film wasn’t really what I was expecting, and at first, that put me off, but slowly the film grew on me, largely due to the twisty path it took to tell its story and the strong acting from both actors, particularly Kieron Moore as the hunky camboy. There is a quietly shocking reveal toward the end that made me go back and rethink the entire film and made it all the more powerful.
“Films that focus on sex — not how people use sex as an expression of love, or as a means of control, or anything like that, but as an inherent part of an individual’s person, are so difficult to capture on film, in my opinion. Things either get too simplified, or too trivialized, or too traumatic, or too sentimentalized. It’s very difficult to ride that line that explores the psyche without trvializing. Sex is such an important, difficult to categorize part of a human, and movies that focus on it can be challenging. This is definitely one of the better ones.
“Yes, I also thought about WHAT HAPPENED WAS… while watching this film. Completely different, but shared that two people spend a very uncomfortable night together. 4 cats (maybe 4 1/2 — still pondering).”
