Chris says: “Nostalgia is tricky to pull off–you can all too easily drown in reactionary sentiment or self-importance while going on about the way things used to be. Fortunately, Richard Linklater, who proved he could conjure nostalgia with affection but also perspective nearly 30 years ago in DAZED AND CONFUSED, is masterful in inviting the viewer to partake in (what could be) his childhood and also render it a thing of wonder without entirely idealizing/inflating it (the use of rotoscope animation is a snug fit for this.) A good companion piece to the fine APOLLO 11 documentary from a few years back and maybe the director’s best since BOYHOOD. 4 cats.

“(Streaming on Netflix.)”
Cheryl responds: “Saw this at SXSW – agreed excellent film.”
Tom responds: “A stoner flick if ever there was one.”
