Thom says: “Director Meirelles has really been on a tear with such successes as CITY OF GOD, THE CONSTANT GARDNER, & BLINDNESS so with the first rate cast here I had high expectations, but maybe I’ve seen one too many of these BABEL (for example) type of films where disparate characters cross & join in complex relations. Here, at least, we get to see Rio de Janeiro, Vienna, Denver, Bratislava, Paris, London, & Phoenix. Despite some fine work by Foster I never felt engaged with this haphazard work. 2.5 cats”
