Let’s call it THE VISITOR meets A TASTE OF CHERRY–a suicidal middle-aged white American man is thrown into the lively world of a Senegalese cab driver. Acting by the two leads is very good. The San Francisco Chronicle says that Solo, the cab driver, has ‘unholy amounts of charisma’–spot on. This pic is very unlike the director’s last film, Chlotrudis fave CHOP SHOP, in look and pacing. My big complaint: the almost constant engine roar underneath the sound. Did they put a mic in the taxi’s muffler?”
