Filmmaker Vincent Munier, spends time with his grandfather in a cabin in the Vosges forests in Eastern France creating extraordinary audio and video recordings of the wildlife that live there and their nighttime activities. Spending long nights hidden in blinds so they are able to capture the environment without disruption, the footage they create is extraordinary. When Vincent’s 13-yeaer-old son, Simon, gets involved, the film expands to include not only the documenting of a beautiful ecosystem, but a criticism on the way man impact nature, the inevitable onslaught of climate change, and a multi-generational story of hope for the future. This was a beautiful film indeed. 4 1/2 cats”
