Chris says: “Kelly (Nika McGuigan) returns home to her Northern Ireland border town after running away the year before, to both the relief and consternation of her family, including her close sister Lauren (Nora-Jane Boone). What Kelly ran away from is gradually disclosed as the film also reveals itself as a study of personal trauma that comes from political violence. The leads have built-in chemistry (sadly, McGuigan has since passed away) and writer/director Cathy Brady has an eye for striking imagery, but it all gets too histrionic in the final act. Lauren vehemently argues Kelly doesn’t need to see anyone for her trauma when in fact everyone in this film could use some therapy. 3 cats“
