Thom says:b”This Australian television film was a real eye-opener. Connolly’s work is mostly unfamiliar to me although I did see THE BANK (2001, 3 CATS). This was a thrilling and awe-inspiring true story about the late-teen scene of one of my heroes Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks. As he is pursued by Australian police as well as C.I.A. agents, he continues to release damning portraits of the U.S. Government. The film is somewhat burdened by a cult sub-plot as well as Assange’s nagging wife but the information revealed is so exciting that I hung on every scene. Griffiths is outstanding as his supportive mom & La Paglia does his thing as a frustrated detective. Assange comes across as a genius prankster with important moral clarity. 4.5 cats
