Michael says: “A woman who served as a medical officer at the war zone on the Jordan/Syrian border takes a much needed leave visiting Egypt where she worked on an archaeological dig two decades ago. There she is swept back up in the majesty and mystery of the country. At night, she drinks by herself at the hotel bar, while by day, she wanders around Luxor, reliving old memories. While on the ferry across the Nile, she is spotted by her former lover from her previous visit to Egypt. The chemistry between the two is rekindled, but their divergent lives still make it difficult for them to imagine maintaining a relationship. LUXOR is a gentle, languorous romance that looks back at what once was, while also finding out the way forward. The pace is sedate and mysterious… for me almost too much so, and while the performance of the two leads were excellent, I couldn’t quite connect with them. 3 cats“
