Michael says: “I have a dirty little secret… I’m not a fan of the muppets. I know, it’s sacrilege, but I enjoyed Sesame St. as a child, but I never really got into the Muppet Show, nor did I enjoy the Muppet movies. Now, that said, I was a fan of THE DARK CRYSTAL, so with all the praise that LABYRINTH often gets, I thought I’d give it a try. After all, it also stars David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly. Unfortunately, it just didn’t do it for me. It really is a children’s movie, and it just wasn’t compelling enough for me to fully engage. Now, I didn’t hate it, there was some fun moments, but overall, it just didn’t hold my attention. I was thinking further about how different from THE DARK CRYSTAL, and I think the difference was that LABYRINTH combined humans an muppets, while THE DARK CRYSTAL featured all muppets. This allowed them to deal with more mature themes and not focus itself around a child. 2.5 cats”
Jana responds: “Sacrilege. LABYRINTH is one of my favorite (childhood) movies. And all the cats for THE DARK CRYSTAL.”
