Thom says: “I might have passed on this Danish uproarious comedy that is not without a cruel, macabre streak, had it not been a free viewing and I was delightfully suprised. This was adapted from the smash Danish television series ‘KLOVN,’ which has 6 seasons to date and most of the film’s cast comes from the series. The protagonist (Frank) is a hapless sort that manages to find himself in one embarrassing scene after another. The story itself is totally madcap. Frank’s uptight girlfriend is pregnant and to prove his dad potential he ‘kidnaps’ her shy 12-year-old nephew and takes him off to what is supposed to be a
‘swingers’ weekend with his married, obnoxious, satyric, best friend Casper. Casper, pays absolutely no attention to the boy while going on his lusty business. One element of the usually hysterical goings-on I did find especially heartless but altogether this irreverent bon-bon is a raunchy delight. I loved Danish musician Bent Fabric playing a brothel owner. There’s talk of an American remake of the film but don’t wait for that one. 4.5 cats”
