Chris says: “It’s one thing to think of Greta Thunberg as a sound bite or a headline—the outspoken, determined, teenaged Swedish climate change activist; this doc presents her as something more by recording her journey from lone striker sitting on the steps of Parliament to the head of a movement that has inspired millions (in a little over a year!) As a film, I AM GRETA is adequate—less about climate change than a study of Thunberg herself. I’m guessing that irritates her just a bit, given her focus and stubbornness on promoting the issue over her ensuing celebrity. We could use an equivalent of Ava DuVernay’s 13TH on the cause, but this is a good start. 3 cats
