Janet says: “Rented this from my library yesterday (with bonus scenes!) after years of curiosity. For a film that got so much press, it seemed quite ordinary. It has trouble getting traction between the big jokes, mostly because the lead actors aren’t very good. (How did Jason Biggs go from there to a lead in a Woody Allen film?) Chris Klein was the exception. Not only were his scenes natural and believable, but he has the face of an angel, more perfect skin than an Estee Lauder ad, and—is his chest really that ginormous, or was the film reformatted to fit my screen? I really liked him in ELECTION, too.
Perhaps there is some way that Chris Klein can do an important indie film and be one of the celebs at next year’s gathering. I will volunteer to walk him back and forth from the Charles Hotel. Or, a symposium on the works of Tom Perrotta? Help me out here, people. 2 cats”
Thom says: “I thought this film was wonderfully silly and fun. I happen to be a huge fan of the teen genre so I’m not very objective, but this was still better than most. My brother hated the film, and I can’t really say why I found it so enjoyable, but I have very fond memories of it. (4 cats). I loved Chris Klein up to THE UNITED STATES OF LELAND, which is embarrassing and dreadful. What in the world happened to the career of Kevin Spacey?
