Ivy says: “I don’t know how many of you love Kristof Kieslowski but this weekend at the Brattle we are premiering a film based on one of his unproduced scripts – BIG ANIMAL. It is directed by one of his actors, and a man that he mentored as a filmmaker
as well Jerzy Stur. It is a wonderful story about the impact that an unexpected animal makes on a small Polish town and especially the couple who adopt the animal. Shot in black and white the film has wonderful cinematography, its humor is light but the depth of humanity to the simple story is impressive.
“I would recommend it to all! I loved Kieslowski’s films and was devastated by his early death. Luckily he made such an intense impression on other filmmakers that he continues to live on in other people’s works.”
