Karen, who’s married to a slimy businessman of no uncertain power decides to leave after ten years of an icy, reproachful, mentally abusive relationship, but as her hubby tells her she has absolutely no skills at all.Still she wanders off into Bogota with no friends, no job, and very, little money. After renting a flophouse room she befriends a ditzy hairdresser whose virtues are not anywhere near the strengths that Karen actually needs. She ends up wandering the streets of the Capitol begging, stealing, hustling, grifting, & lying to get money to live on. But maybe her luck will change with experience. Still, Karen is not as endearing or appealing as the young girl in CORPO CELESTE or the South American immigrant in AMADOR, and yet, I wouldn’t have missed it for the world. 4 cats”
