Thom says: “This companion piece to PARIS JE T’AIME isn’t quite as good as the Paris version. The former concentrated on all different districts of the ‘City of Light,’ each with its own yarn, and was quite a bit more sincere. That isn’t to say that the New York film doesn’t have a lot to offer, but the disjointed stories are hit-and-miss. I loved the Chris Cooper/Robin Wright Penn segment and especially the Julie Christie/John Hurt/Shia LeBeouf section which had a daring bit of mystery about it, a real dream-like quality. The Ethan Hawke/Maggie Q story was truly hilarious. Ah, New York, the Big Apple, and how many stories does it have to tell? I do miss living in the City but my life took a different turn. 4 cats ”
