Thom says: “Thrill of thrills Michael Caine was at the Q&A session & I basked in his greatness. 1st-time director Barber was lucky to get him for this beautiful part. This film has a lot of the same elements as Clint Eastwood’s recent GRAN TORINO. An old serviceman starts out to avenge his best friend’s death at the hands of the local petty criminals, who are taking over their urban landscape. Fairly standard stuff, but very gritty with a lot of surprises. Mortimer makes for a steely policewoman. Caine is great as always. 4 cats “
