Diane says: “Hey, I thought this was going to be a nice, sweet movie, but it was very stressful! (I also had the idea that it was a documentary.) Patton Oswalt gives a fine perf as Giants fan Paul, whose simmering bitterness against his family, his parking garage customers, and Philly fans turns to swagger when he gets on his favorite call-in show. Paul doesn’t have much going on in his life, but he will defend his values and life choices to the end. I know somebody like that.
“Great to see Kevin Corrigan back as a ‘loser.’ Some reviewers found the stereotypes among Paul’s family sophomoric, but I thought they made good background. Nice touch, the Suduko and Chinese packets. My parents have a big collection of Chinese packets, too. One detraction: lame media response to the goings-on was not realistic. 4 cats.”
