Michael says: “David Turpin’s turgid debut was not for me. More of a tone poem than a film, it was bewildering as to why this AIDS story that embraces every trope and slows its pacing down to the most sluggish symbolism was made today. Perhaps it’s a bit of a history lesson to younger gay men, but even a somewhat interesting performance by lead actor Éanna Hardwicke grew overly morose and repetitive to lift this film out of the mire. I’m sure this film resonated for some, but it just wasn’t my cup of tea. 1 1/2 cats
