Hey there Everyone!

This week’s Chlotrudis Monday Night at the Movies has been a hit documentary at festivals for over a year. Now DOUBLE DARE gets its Boston theatrical release at the Coolidge Corner Theatre. Join us on Monday, May 16 for the 7:45 p.m. screening. If you’re free on Saturday evening, you might want to catch DOUBLE DARE on Saturday, at 5:30 p.m. where director Amanda Micheli and stuntwoman Zo’ell will be in attendance. Otherwise join us on Monday night.

DOUBLE DARE
This double-barreled, action-packed documentary follows two un-sung Hollywood heros: Jeannie Epper and Zo’ell, who have been set on fire, thrown off buildings, dragged by wild horses and hit by cars. As stuntwomen, Epper doubled for Wonder Woman in the 70’s, and New Zeland native Bell landed the coveted job doubling Xena at the age of 18. Academy Award winning director (and Boston native) Amanda Micheli fills DOUBLE DARE with star-studded interviews and rollicking live-action stunt sequences, to create a candid look at these two strong, dedicated women.
Director: Amanda Micheli
Cast: Jeannie Epper; Zo’ell

I am quite distressed that 3-IRON has been limited to just two afternoon showings at the Kendall after only a single week. I can’t believe I might miss this one on the big screen! I hope many of you took advantage of its 1st week run. I was suprised to see the Canadian film, IT’S ALL GONE PETE TONG opening this week at the Harvard Square Loew’s and the Embassy Theatre in Waltham. This one, like DOUBLE DARE, has also been on the festival circuit for quite a while.

Make your plans now for the Provincetown International Film Festival, which runs June 15 – 19, 2005. Even though we’re already planning the Toronto International Film Festival excursion (in September) you may want to spare a few thoughts for PIFF. A few Chlotrudis members are planning to attend already, and the more the merrier! PIFF is a very relaxing and fun festival, with lots of parties and a gorgeous setting. Check out the website for more details. The films will be announced on May 23.

And if you’re interested in the aforementioned Toronto International Film Festival, make sure you contact me ASAP. We will be booking our rooms in the next few weeks.

See you at the movies!
