Michael says: “I enjoyed it. Very understated, but a clever blending of documentary using archival footage of the filmmaker’s father, with a narrative. Intriguing premise. 3 1/2 cats”
Laks said: “Maybe a stretch but it had a DEAD MAIL (visual and synthy audio and solitary characters) sort of feel to it that I really loved. It was a bit slow considering its a shorter film but I really liked it. 3.8 Cats”
Brett says: “I also enjoyed this film. I would say it’s lofty in its themes and attempts, but that’s one of the things I appreciated. I have high praise for its supporting performances which are not ‘hey, everyone, look at me, I’m ACTING,’ which is most often a personal preference. I’m also a fan of how it was structured. I will second that use of the word ‘understated.’ All of the above will also be reasons for others not to like it as much. But, they were reasons I applauded it.”
Chris says: “Like burrowing through an oddly-shaped rabbit hole of outdated media and deadpan conversations with grief as its overall tone. The meta-elements neither add to nor distract from anything but I’m not convinced they’re needed, either. 3.25 cats”
