Michael says: “Not the first, but perhaps the most famous (despite the 1980’s pop song) of the Bogie and Bacall films, I have a vague recollection that I may have seen all or part of THE BIG SLEEP over twenty years ago, but watching it again (or possibly for the first time) was a joy. This movie is great mainly for the outstanding performances and chemistry between the two leads, as well as the supporting players. It’s a convoluted crime drama with murder, gambling, blackmail, and the usual double-crosses, but it’s a lot of fun. Don’t try to figure out what’s going on… the plot is nearly irrelevant. Honestly, it doesn’t really matter to thoroughly enjoy this masterpiece. 5 cats“
