Michael says: “The premise was intriguing, and it was on a list of essential film’s to watch, but Andrew Niccol’s directorial debut, was a big loser for me. When a genetically inferior man tricks his way into a job that only is far beyond his genetic profile, he is on the verge of getting everything he dreamed of until he finds himself a prime suspect in a murder investigation. Flat acting, morally distasteful characters, and lazy writing all help to drag this film down despite its clinically sterile look. And we’re really supposed to think Ethan Hawke and Jude Law look enough alike to pass as the same person? Disappointing role for Uma Thurman, and Alan Arkin as one of the detectives on the case is in a completely different movie. 1 1/2 cats”
