Thom says: “I’ve only seen 2 of Canadian director Nguyen’s mediocre fare (WAR WITCH & 2 LOVERS & A BEAR) and this turgid effort won’t add to his appeal. It might well be that the plot went right over my head. Eisenberg & Skarsgård play quirky New York cousins who are High Frequency Trading players in a high-stakes scheme to lay a fiber-optic cable from New Jersey to Kansas right under the nose of their vicious nemesis (Hayek having lots of fun, using her luscious body to good effect). If this makes total sense to you, you’ll have some fun with the business-oriented movie. Eisenberg is starting to tire me with his limited range. He even doesn’t do much with his plot weight hindrance of being a dying man. Skarsgård is far more memorable here where he plays a man with almost no sex appeal, balding and slouchy, nearly unrecognizable. I rarely have much interest in big business schemes films, & I just didn’t want to follow the story here. 2 cats”
