Phred says: “Occasionally when you leave a movie theater, you get a feeling of tremendous satisfaction. That’s the case for me with XX/XY.
“The film opens with a young man running into the same beautiful girl twice, the second time at a party. She soon invites him to bed with her beautiful girlfriend, and thus starts their relationship.
“The movie really has two parts, their free-spirited early relationships, and the aftermath shown when they all hook up again ten years later.
“In their youth and impetuousity, the three don’t foresee the emotional pain and turmoil caused by unfaithfulness. And, years later, have they changed?
“In some ways the film resembles SEX LIES AND VIDEOTAPE, though it’s a bit more gritty. Performances are great, and the actors beautiful and sexy. The people are not always perfect, good, or even likable, but that’s realistic. I won’t reveal the resolution, but it’s refreshing and highly satisfying. Life’s a bitch.” 4 cats
