Brett says: “Perhaps a somewhat controversial statement against a film that many will love, the fact that it’s such an easy film to like is exactly what turns me off from it. I have yet to understand how formulaic Bollywood is somehow superior to any form of formulaic Hollywood, and I respond accordingly when I see similar tropes overused time and time again when I’ve already seen it before. Beyond the resemblance of other Bollywood titles, it’s a film that just relishes too much in its ‘cute’ factor. Again, it’s an easy enough film to love, but one that just makes it ‘too easy’ for this particular viewer.  The performances are altogether too stale and plastic, which is one unbearable observation I have of many Bollywood titles. The plot itself centers on a young boy who has the perceived misfortune of being insensitive to any pain. As you might imagine, this is a built-in metaphor for all kinds of human conditions, but to make things equal parts human and equal parts over-the-top Bollywood, his intentions are to learn martial arts and adapt this ability to combat the bad people of the world. The intent is to make the concept zany enough to be embraced in its innocent approach, but it just flops in too many ways as a film trying entirely too hard and going for the appeal of easy marks in the audience.”
