Laks says: “THE LEGEND OF OCHI follows the story of Yuri, who is dressed in a bright yellow puffy jacket and begins with her hunting with her father and many brothers. We soon learn that they are hunting the Ochi that are detected on the radar and gradually we learn the folklore of the humans against the seemingly sweet and adorable Ochi that seem to be merely existing deep in the forest. Yuri is the only daughter who is also defiant of her father and brother and her defiance comes to a boiling point when she discovers a baby Ochi severely injured in one the traps her own family set. This leads Yuri to a path of wonderful self discovery in daring but humorous adventures with her new found friend.
“I found the writing to be quite good but at time just above average. Overall its a delightful film with full characters, none of which are unlikable, even though some of them are clearly the bad guys. It is a film that must be watched in the cinema for all the reasons the Director, Isaiah Saxon states for in his Lost Art Note one should experience a film as beautiful as this in the cinema. Isaiah states that one of his patron saints is Dame Jane Goodall in his wonderful conversation discussing all things relating to caring for the planet and all lifeforms. – 4 Cats“
