Michael says: “When Will walks in on his wife Charly having just had sex with another man on their twin daughters’ fifth birthday he is thrown for a loop. A year later, he is still having trouble letting go. He asks to see his daughters more, despite his limited means, living in Astoria, and teaching college students how to create comics. One of his more promising students introduces him to her mother, and perhaps there is a chance for Will to move forward. But Will isn’t sure if he’s over his ex, despite the fact that she is engaged to the man with whom she cheated, and is carrying his child. While he tries to work out his feelings through his own comic art, he finally comes to the realization of what he needs to do.

“Writer/director James C. Strouse has crafted a beautiful romantic comedy about moving on and the tangled emotions of parenting. The film is beautifully shot, with lovely orchestration creating a sweet, yet melancholy atmosphere that perfectly suits the story. Jemaine Clement (‘Flight of the Conchords’; WHAT WE DO IN THE SHADOWS) is a revelation as Will, revealing loneliness and sensitivity that is so authentic. Regina Hall is perfect as a possible new woman in Will’s life, bringing a no-nonsense attitude, while fully inhabiting a real, adult woman who is confident and caring.

“This is a fantastic choice for Buried Treasure, although there are potentially more nominations (from me, anyway) in acting, directing and writing categories. This is available on Netflix, and I highly recommend you see it! 5 cats
