Philip says: “Over the past ten years, LA BÛCHE has become a perennial holiday favorite of mine. A score by Michel Legrand containing classic Christmas songs from the 50’s and 60’s, family dysfunction, honesty, anger, and of course a lot of cigarette smoking. What’s not to love about a French Christmas? As usual, infidelity is dealt with in a much different way than in the U.S. People are still angry, just not so surprised. The acting is first class. The love between the family members as they hobble towards December 25th is apparent in every scene. 5 cats. A must-see.”
