Thom says: “One of my favorite things about seeing films is when I cash in on someones recommendation and the film blows me away. Such was the case from Chlotrudis reporters for their strong reviews of this sharp indie winner. That I wasn’t that familiar with the excellent cast this time helped greatly as I wasn’t looking for any particular characterizations. Ingrid (brilliantly played by Plaza) is a schizophrenic social media fanatic. In her youth she greatly wronged a schoolmate (Taylor) who now years later is an Instagram star with her famous husband who Ingrid starts stalking on the internet. She moves to California to be where Taylor lives and plans her attack of insinuating herself into Taylor’s life by copiously following her every move on Instagram and planning accidental runs-in with Taylor & her retinue. Amazingly her plans work to perfection and for awhile all her dreams ar e realized, only to come to something of a disastrous blow-up. Plaza does an amazing job with her deadpan style making the super-crazy Ingrid almost likable. All the supporting cast are superb as well. Olsen is so warming as the endlessly pretty Taylor that her vapidity soon becomes an illusion. Gung-ho hubby Ezra is excellently assayed by the handsome Russell and Ice Cube’s son Jackson Jr. is super cute as Ingrid’s abused suitor. Well-written and definitely an eye-catching success.”
