Jeff says: “Not so much a thriller, HOW TO ROB is more of a low budget, tough-guy movie, but it packs some thrills. The plot involves two boyhood friends grown up and working for a local gangster as stick-up guys who pistol whip the wrong man, so now they have to avoid the hitmen on their trail while trying to pull off the biggest job of their career. Pretty standard stuff, but it’s got a tightly-wound script, generally good lead performances, and makes great use of its quotidian South Shore/Cape Cod setting. The last scene is a little weird, but that’s OK. It fits the aesthetic. Shot in 12 days, and written and directed by a Bostonian, Peter Horgan, teaches at Emerson. 4 cats. On Prime and Apple TV+”
