Diane says: “Caught this at International Film Festival of Boston. A very funny, rambling story of one guy’s heartbreak, and the response of those around him. (Could he be compared to the Job of A SERIOUS MAN?) Justin Rice is great as Harmony, a thirty-ish office worker whose ex-gf calls him a ‘loser.’ Director Bob Byington uses scenes of about a minute each as Harmony seeks solace from his family and many friends. And that makes for a huge cast! Dialogue is very clever, wardrobe creates a lot of interest, and Jonathan Richman fans will delight in repeated renditions of ‘Government Center.’ 4 cats.
“Side note: in 1976, I was lured to see TUNNEL VISION (0 cats) with the words ‘featuring Chevy Chase.’ Chevy appeared for two-and-a-half minutes. I was lured to HARMONY AND ME by Kevin Corrigan’s name in a review, and he was in it for about 5 minutes. Very disappointing, but at least it was a good movie. ”
