Diane says: “Tyler Taormina’s (HAM ON RYE, CHRISTMAS EVE IN MILLER’S POINT) sophomore film is just over an hour. Perfect to watch just before bed as it is quiet and meditative. It seems like it would have been his first film, as it has very little (no?) dialogue, and incorporates themes of suburban ritual and a desire for connection that are more fully developed in his later two films. (Oh, I am reminded now that it was a COVID-era project.)
There is a funny homage to David Lynch in the opening shots. Recommended for fans of Taormina’s other films and experimental films. I am not going to assign cats.”
