Jeff says: “**Slight spoilers**
“A high-powered, middle-aged Parisian lawyer (Fabrice Luchini) comes to Monaco to defend an older woman against charges that she murdered her much younger Russian lover. He’s thrown into full-on mid-life crisis mode when a free-spirited (or loose, depending on your point of view), possibly gold-digging, local weathergirl (the vivacious Louise Bourgoin) begins to pursue him. He initially disdains the bodyguard (Roschdy Zem) assigned to protect him from the Russian-mafia friends of the deceased lover, but the two eventually develop a friendship, which figures in the plot’s resolution when the lawyer decides to extricate himself from the relationship with the weathergirl. The means by which this is accomplished, unnecessarily brutal, almost cavalier, put me off what had been a reasonably well-told story. 2 1/2 cats”
