Thom says: “Director Blair (responsible for the UK television series ‘Metrosexuality’) was asked to take a tour of young actors around the country to various colleges and give skits that would instruct the students about ‘gay’ people and this film came out of that experience. According to Blair the project was a huge success. But in the film Blair just goes to one school where he teaches volunteers a fun dance routine. There’s rampant homophobia, gay bashers, protective love, crushes, confusion, and other aspects of young love frustrations. While the film was certainly engaging enough it reminded me rather of the excellent UK television series ‘Skins’. I would have been more interested if he had made a documentary about his different stops along the tour rather than fictionalizing one experience. The dance routine, while fun, didn’t serve much purpose other than relief from all the drama that was going on around it. 3.5 cats
