Michael says: “Cute, nicely made film written and directed by prolific young actor Michael Angarano, about Max, a young man celebrating his 25th birthday, a month after his older brother had killed himself. He’s a bit at a loss, so his best friend from colleges come to town and the two spend the day wandering around the streets of Manhattan. It’s definitely a love letter to NYC, the film is nicely shot and directed, and there are some really lovely moments throughout. Unfortunately for me, perhaps it’s a generational thing, but I found most of the characters a little too annoying to really connect with, or a little too two-dimensional to connect with. The one exception Maya Kazan as Maggie, Max’s sister. She did a great job in a small role, and her character was nicely real. I was rather impressed with Juno Temple’s brief scene as Max’s ex too. 3 1/2 cats“
