Diane says: “From the Boston Jewish Film Festival, this docu is about a soccer team from the Arab-Israeli town of Sakhnin in Galilee. The team, made up of Arabs, Jews and foreigners, has it ups and downs compounded by anti-Arab sentiment from the fans. Having just come off the high of HARVARD BEATS YALE, an intense football experience even for a dope like me, I was disappointed in SAKHNIN and had trouble following it. Professional reviews are good, so don’t let me scare you off it, but it bounced around too much for me.
“Director Christopher Browne’s previous A LEAGUE OF ORDINARY GENTLEMEN, a docu about professional bowling which Variety called ‘immensely entertaining,’ sounds like it’s more up my alley. 2 cats”
