Brett says: “Predominantly taking place in one setting, a secret warehouse that serves as a meeting headquarters and equipment storage for a Michigan militia group becomes a hotbed of mystery and mistrust following a mass shooting at a police funeral. The film is rich in dialogue that bobs and weaves through rich character backgrounds and their status as a group grounded in the principles of preparing for the ultimate failure of government and its support systems. However, the unity of the group falls into disarray as the central conflict of the film and serves as a steady crescendo of tension that, in the end, comprises a thriller that rivals anything of this nature produced in recent memory.. With the cast of characters belonging to a militia, one thing that majorly benefits the film is its concentration on the story and characterization and how it avoids a pitfall in becoming some sort of social commentary for or against such groups. It feels fresh in that we’ve never really had a film that focuses on these group without some sort of thematic agenda tied to it. It’s a film that knows what it is from beginning to end and embraces a sort of RESERVOIR DOGS approach, creating a neo noir feel to it. The aura of the film might also resemble THE USUAL SUSPECTS for some viewers.”
