Thom says: “Now retired I find myself attacking more projects to fill my time from awakening until shuteye. It’s been many years since I fully embraced an LGBT Film Festival but with an old mate running the Festival I thought I’d give it a go. In this Belgian offering a young teenage boy (Pim) in 1950s Belgium feels the first stirrings of love and desire. The focus of his attention is the older boy (Zoltan) who lives next-door. To helps his cause he ingratiates himself with the family and its even thought he has designs on the younger sister of his foremost desire. Pim & Zoltan eventually do have a minor flirtation but Zoltan eventually falls in love with a girl and they marry, Zoltan moving away from home. Pim is heartbroken and pines away for the rest of the film. Very sweet and well-played if not a little fantastic. 3.5 cats
