Charles Hotel LogoThe Charles Hotel: The Ninth & Tenth Annual Chlotrudis Awards Ceremonies took place at the Brattle Theatre in historic Harvard Square. The Charles Hotel generously donated rooms for our visiting special guests and provided them with comfortable and elegant accomodations for their weekend in Cambridge.Noir

Noir: A warm, sophisticated bar serving classic cocktails, sweet and sultry signature drinks and a menu suited for a late afternoon or late night snack. Designed to reflect the intense, decadent atmosphere of 1940's nightlife, Noir is the right place to meet friends after work, a date before a show or to round out an evening you hope never ends. Noir is the official sponsor of the Chlotrudis Awards post-party.

French Cultural CenterThe French Cultural Center of Boston:  The French Cultural Center is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide an authentic French cultural and social experience for the purpose of personal enrichment and greater understanding of the diverse peoples of the French-speaking world.  We are also home to the Alliance Française of Boston and Cambridge, following its proven method of teaching through immersion.

Gethe-Institut LogoThe Goethe Institut: The Goethe-Institut is the cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with a global reach.

They promote knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation. They convey a comprehensive picture of Germany by providing information on Germany's cultural, social and political life.

Chlotrudis is excited to embark on a new relationship with the Goethe Institut in our efforts to educate audiences about international culture through film. Chlotrudis does not segregate films in languages other than English into a Foreign Film category, and this year particularly, with the high profile German film, THE LIVES OF OTHERS scoring two Chlotrudis nominations, and several other German co-productions filling out many other categories is a wonderful year for us to begin our partnership. Our thanks to the Goethe Institut and its support of German culture.

Canadian Consulate logo

The Canadian Consulate of Boston: In recent years, the Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film has found itself in the pleasant position of repeatedly bestowing accolades on the Canadian film industry, both with its nominations and awards, and with its guest speakers and special events. From Taskforce recipients Atom Egoyan and Patricia Rozema, to award winners Karine Vanasse and the cast of The Five Senses, Chlotrudis Awards has had an interest in Canadian film.

Each year CSIF brings members of the Canadian film industry to Cambridge to be honored at its annual Awards Cermeony. Past honorees have included Don McKellar, Tracy Wright, Maury Chaykin, Ellen Page, Thom Fitzgerald, Daniel MacIvor, and Wiebke von Carolsfeld. Once again, the Canadian Consulate of Boston has been their providing much appreciated assistance sponsoring the society's post-Ceremony reception at Noir..

In 2001, Chlotrudis Awards held a special sneak preview benefit screening of Gary Burns' latest film, waydowntown, and coming up this year are several other Canadian film-related events, not the least of which is the special "An Evening with Sarah Polley" event. The Canadian Consulate has generously supported our efforts with the Sarah Polley reception that was held in late January, 2002. Another exciting event the Canadian Consulate is helping Chlotrudis Awards with is the special pre-release screening of Atarnajuat: The Fast Runner, on May 5, 2002 in partnership with the Museum of Fine Arts. Atarnajuat: The Fast Runner is the first fiction film to be directed, written produced and to star Canadian Inuits. This special event also features director Zaharias Kunuk. We thank The Canadian Consulate and look forward to working with them in the future.

Irving House: When additional accomodations were needed, the lovely Irving House in Cambridge stepped up to the plate and helped us out. Since 1945 Irving House has had affordable rates and the best proximity to Harvard Square. It's a large guesthouse that feels like home.

Harding House

Harding House: Come and experience a refreshing alternative to major hotels at the Isaac Harding House in Cambridge. Their unique recently remodeled 1860's Victorian will be your home away from home. With 14 spacious guest rooms with en suite full bath, hardwood floors, TV, telephone, hair dryer, and individually controlled heat & AC Chlotrudis guests will feel cozy and relaxed. Isaac Harding House is large enough to let guests be, and yet, small enough to make them feel at home.

Charlesmark at Copley logo

Charlesmark at Copley: For the 8th Annual Chlotrudis Awards, the new Charlesmark at Copley became our first major sponsor for the ceremony. This lovely boutique hotel donated guest rooms for our speakers, providing a convenient location, personal ambience and helpful staff. A subsequent appearance by Cassandra Peterson (aka Elivra, Mistress of the Dark) also found the Charlesmark helping out as a sponsor.
