Submission Guidelines

ENTRY PROCEDURE:

  • Fill out the online entry form available through Without a Box.
  • Ship your preview tape or DVD, entry fee, and press materials to:

  • You will receive an email confirmation when your preview is received.
  • Submissions will be viewed by our selection committee and you will hear from us by December 15, 2008.

ELIGIBILITY:

  • Short films, 20 minutes or under, are eligible for the festival competition.
  • Foreign Language Films must be subtitled in English.

DEADLINES:

  • Early Bird Deadline: September 15, 2008 (postmarked).
  • Advanced Deadline: October 1, 2008 (postmarked).
  • Regular Deadline: October 15, 2008 (postmarked).
  • Extended deadline: October 31, 2008 (postmarked).

ENTRY FEES:

  • Please enclose a check or money order for $15.00 (postmarked before September 1), $25.00 (postmarked before September 15), $30.00 (postmarked before October 1), or $45.00 (postmarked before October 15) in U.S. dollars with your entry.
  • Make checks payable to: Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film. A separate entry fee is required for each entry.

THE FINE PRINT:

  • One official entry form must accompany each individual submission. If you are submitting more than one entry, a separate form submission is required for each film.
  • All entries must be shipped prepaid. Do not send materials in fiber-filled envelopes or "jiffy packs," since fibers will damage both videotape and playback equipment. Please use bubble-lined envelopes instead.
  • Preview format must be 1/2" VHS or DVD. (NTSC only.) Preview cassettes should be clearly labeled with the title, running time and contact information (name, phone number, e-mail.)
  • Eligible Exhibition Formats include 16mm, DVD and 1/2" VHS NTSC.
  • If you would like your videocassette returned, please enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope with your entry. Make sure to write the name of your film on the top left corner of the return envelope!
  • Please include any related press materials, including press kit, a list of other festivals at which your film has been screened and photos.
  • Although due care will be exercised, Chlotrudis Film Festival cannot assume any liability for damage to entries.
