CHLOTRUDIS SOCIETY sponsors Sarah Polley’s ‘TAKE THIS WALTZ’, starring MICHELLE WILLIAMS at PROVINCETOWN FILM FEST
The CHLOTRUDIS SOCIETY FOR INDEPENDENT FILM (CSIF) is pleased to announce its sponsorship of TAKE THIS WALTZ, at the PROVINCETOWN INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL (PIFF), to be held June 13 - 17. The film will have two screenings, 7:15pm on Friday 6/15 and 2pm on Sunday 6/17, both at the Art House. Check www.ptownfilmfest.org for more details. Celebrating its fourteenth year, PIFF remains dedicated to “showcasing independent American and international films, nurturing aspiring independent filmmakers, honoring industry luminaries, and preserving and sustaining cinema as an art form through educational forums”, this year with over 50 films plus special events, panels and parties. Chlotrudis is particularly thrilled to present the newest directorial work by Sarah Polley, whose work we have been following and celebrating since THE SWEET HEREAFTER, and who Chlotrudis co-hosted at the Brattle Theatre with Women in Film & Video/New England in celebration of her short film, I SHOUT LOVE.
In 2006,Polley made an impressive debut as director with the acclaimed AWAY FROM HER, for which she won the Best Adapted Screenplay Chlotrudis Award, a drama which dealt with the complexities of fidelity, both marital and personal, for a late in life couple. In TAKE THIS WALTZ, Polley is once again drawn to the lives of a married couple. Margot (Michelle Williams) and Lou (Seth Rogen) live a fulfilling marriage defined by contentment and companionship, until Margot meets Daniel and the ehilaration of the unknown encroaches – disrupting what’s familiar and confronting the couple with temptations to be contemplated and choices to be reconciled. The talented cast of this colorful and bittersweet drama includes Luke Kirby and Sarah Silverman.
