Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film presents an exclusive screening of THE SAVER and post-film reception
Join Chlotrudis members at Jamaica Plain's Uforge Gallery for this very special screening of Wiebke von Carolsfeld's THE SAVER. Based on a novel by Edeet Ravel, this Canadian film stars Imajyn Cardinal as Fern, a teenaged girl who finds herself orphaned in the middle of a harsh Montreal winter. Determined to avoid her mother's tragic fate, Fern sets out to build a new life for herself. When Youth Protection comes looking, she bolts. At one of her mother's cleaning jobs, she finds the book 50 Ways to become a Millionaire. 'All you need to do is save,' it promises. Fern decides to do just that, replacing her grief with the quest to become a millionaire. Wiebke von Carolsfeld (MARION BRIDGE; STAY) creates a dramatic, and thought-provoking film with touches of gentle humor featuring a breakout performance from a talented young actress.
