Chlotrudis co-presents two films at the Independent Film Festival of Boston
If it's spring in Boston, that means it's time for the Independent Film Festival of Boston. This year, Chlotrudis is co-presenting two films at the festival. MADE IN JAPAN is the remarkable story of Tomi Fujiyama, the world's first Japanese country, music superstar, and her dream to play the Grand Ol' Opry again. This doc, directed by Josh Bishop, is a funny yet poignant multi-cultural journey through music, marriage, and the impact of the corporate world on the dreams of one woman. MADE IN JAPAN screens on Sunday, April 26, 3:15 pm at the Somerville Theatre.
In WILDLIKE, a teenage girl named Mackenzie, is sent by her struggling mother to live with her uncle in Juneau, Alaska. Starring Canadian actor Bruce Greenwood, and helmed by first-time director Frank Hall Green, this film blends the emotional terrain of an optimistic family drama, with the stunning physical terrain of an awesome landscape. WILDLIKE Saturday, April 25, 7:15pm at the Somerville Theatre.
The 13th Annual Independent Film Festival Boston is taking place April 22-29 at the Somerville Theatre, Brattle Theatre, Coolidge Corner Theatre, and UMass Boston.
