TriggerThe Chlotrudis Society for Independent Film is pleased to joinwith the INDEPENDENT FILM FESTIVAL OF BOSTON (IFFBoston) once again to co-present two films as part of the festival’s 9th year.  We are thrilled to be part of the US premiere of TRIGGER, starring Chlotrudis Awards special honoree Tracy Wright, as well as helping present THE FUTURE, director Miranda July’s follow up to ME AND YOU AND EVERYONE WE KNOW.  In a small world coincidence, Tracy Wright had a memorable supporting role in July’s debut film, one which Miranda July wrote specifically for her.

TRIGGER, featuring a who’s who of Canadian cinema before and behind the camera, costars Molly Parker and Tracy Wright, as a pair of former grunge queens who agree to reunite for one last show.  The film is a love letter to Toronto, and features a tour de force performance by Wright, in her last film before her far too premature death last summer. Rock star moments aside, the heart of the film is an emotional and riveting exploration of a lifelong friendship between two women. TRIGGER will be shown at 4:45pm at the Somerville Theater, in the heart of Davis Square,  on Saturday April 30th.

The FutureDirector Miranda July’s sophomore effort, THE FUTURE follows a couple as it adopts a stray cat, a decision that literally alters the course of time and space and tests their faith in each other and themselves.  Featuring elements of magical realism – a talking cat who narrates his own sad tale, a living tee-shirt, and strangely familiar Moon – the film creates its own particular universe, as it presents this moment(?) of time in the life of this young couple. THE FUTURE will screen at the Brattle Theater in Harvard Square, at 7:15pm on Saturday April 30th.

Celebrating its 9th year, the IFFBoston is the largest film festival in New England, bringing a far-reaching & varied roster of independent films & filmmakers together each spring to showcase the best to an ever-growing, appreciative Boston audience.  Check the IFFBoston website at for more information on these and all other film and film events that will be part of this year’s festival.
