Ahna O'Reilly to Accept the Chlotrudis Breakout Award at the 20th Annual Chlotrudis Awards Ceremony
This year Chlotrudis bestows its Breakout Award to Ahna O’Reilly, who had a standout 2013. She appeared in the acclaimed FRUITVALE STATION, James Franco’s AS I LAY DYING adapted from the William Faulkner novel, as well as in featured roles in JOBS and CBGB. AS I LAY DYING is nominated for two Chlotrudis Awards this year, including Best Ensemble Cast. Ms. O’Reilly first came to wide attention in 2011’s THE HELP, as employer Elizabeth to Viola Davis’ Abileen. In 2012, Ahna appeared in the short film, THE PERFECT FIT, written and directed by this year's returning honoree, Beth Grant. With three films already in production, 2014 looks to be even busier for Ahna, who is scheduled to appear to accept the Breakout Award on March 16, 4pm at the Brattle Theatre as Chlotrudis celerates its 20th annual awards ceremony.
As a follow-up to AS I LAY DYING, Ahna is working again with James Franco on an adaptation of William Faulkner's THE SOUND AND THE FURY. Currently in post-production, Ahna will soon appear in Peter Bogdanovich's new film, SQUIRRELS TO THE NUTS alongside Jennifer Aniston, Owen Wilson, Joanna Lumley, Cybil Shepherd and more. She is also slated to star in NO WAY JOSE, a coming of middle-age comedy also starring Adam Goldberg and Franka Potente.
The Chlotrudis Breakout Award heralds an up-and-coming actor who is poised to get noticed in a big way. Past Breakout Award winners include Kerry Washington, Ellen Page, and Christopher Abbott. Chlotrudis is thrilled to honor Ahna O'Reilly as this year's Chlotrudis Breakout Award recipient.
